Advice to keep your garnements properly

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR jackets

Whether you use it for outdoor adventures or city strolls, your waterproof jacket needs proper care to last you many years. Here are some tips to make sure it has a long life. Here we are talking about garments that have a CHS 2L, CHS 2.5L or CHS 3L type waterproof membrane, for which you should use a phosphate-free detergent, such as the Granger’s products available in our stores. Our jackets must be machine washed in cold water and air dried. To ensure optimal washing with no product deterioration, close Velcro tabs, snaps and zips, and loosen elastic draw-cords before placing your garment in the machine. It is important to never have your jacket dry cleaned if it has a membrane, because this process damages the garment and compromises its waterproofness. We also recommend that you only wash your jacket when necessary (at least once per season). With time and wear, it might become less waterproof. There are waterproofing treatments (Granger’s products) that can help avoid this. If you need advice on this topic, feel free to ask our in-store advisors for help.

Chlorophylle’s insulated jackets must be machine washed in cold water and air dried. Use a phosphate-free detergent, such as the Granger’s products available in our stores. To ensure an optimal wash with no product deterioration, use the slowest spin setting. If your jacket has a fur collar, it is important to remove it before placing the jacket in the machine. Also, close Velcro tabs, snaps and zips, and loosen elastic draw cords before placing your garment in the machine. For down jackets, we recommend that you place two tennis balls in the drum of the dryer before starting it in order to prevent the insulation from sticking together. It may take several cycles to fully dry your garment. Coats insulated with synthetic materials can be laid flat to dry. It is also possible to put them in the dryer first to remove the excess water in the lining.
