The Blueberries
Crazy snow enthusiasts!
The Blueberries started in 2018, founded by four ski enthusiasts: Antoine, Christopher, Raphaël, and William. Their main goal is to show off the off-piste terrain in Saguenay. While most people think of Western Canada for skiing, they want to highlight what the East has to offer. So far, they have made six films, with Voilà being the latest.

Voilà
Filmed over two years, Voilà follows the Blueberries across Canada, navigating risks, powder snow, and inventive tricks. From mountain peaks to parks, villages, and swimming pools, everywhere becomes a stage for their stunts.
This film combines beautiful images with the thrill of skiing, where majestic shots of flora and fauna are interspersed with those showcasing the Blueberries' prowess.
“Voilà means many things, and each member of the crew has found their own interpretation. For some, it means the end of street life; for others, it's the best clip they could offer; or simply, it's our art, our way of expressing ourselves, our passion.”
William Pilote
The hunt for perfect snow
The team now has seven members: a cameraman, a photographer, and more riders. They travel the region to find the best skiable snow. Nothing matches the thrill of skiing pristine slopes. This search now fills most of their free time. For them, that is true happiness.
Raph works as a firefighter for the city of Saguenay for several years now. One can understand that he knows a lot about action and adrenaline. He comes from a family of well-known skiers in the region, especially because his father is one of the founding members of the Valinouët ski school.
We can say that within the group Raph is perceived as a father. He is the icon of freestyle skiing in Saguenay and a reference of wisdom for all. It seems that he taught Antoine how to do his first rail, many years ago.
Will is the perfect example of a ski-bum. He has traveled and skied the Canadian West from top to bottom in order to discover new landscapes. He touches people's hearts with his joy of living and his enthusiasm for partying. You can tell he doesn't fit the mold when you see him in his camper, his year-round home.
His role on the team is largely management-oriented. He is the one who prepares the winter schedule and plans the outings. In addition, he is involved in the creative aspect of the films. In short, without Will, the Blueberries would not be what they are.
Antoine alternates between the restaurant business and his field of study, kinesiology. According to legend, he is the reference person to get the best Negroni in town. He has demonstrated his skills as a skier at the competitive level in the region and through his involvement in the urban ski community.
He is the "rookie" of the team, making him the perfect candidate to test the dangerous terrain first. It's the law of the jungle, being the youngest, he has to prove himself. He also contributes with his positivism in the group and according to him, fun and happiness must remain the main idea in what they do.
Véro, Saguenay by adoption, left the suburbs to settle in the region in 2020. An accountant, mother, and outdoor enthusiast, she quickly found her place here. Her talents extend beyond the office—she proved herself in freestyle competitions across Quebec a few years ago. Standing at just 5 feet tall, she doesn't let anyone push her around. Her journey with the team began with her first appearance in the film Dos, and she has been part of the group ever since. Véro is an authentic and energetic girl who always brings good cheer to those around her.
Nic, or “Veillet” to his friends, is the newest member of the team. He joined the Blueberries in 2021. It felt as if he had always been part of the group. He is originally from Joliette. He came to Saguenay to complete his physiotherapy studies. Clearly, everyone needed him to treat their minor everyday injuries. With his thirst for adventure and sparkling energy, he is a valuable asset on forest outings. During the summer season, don't look for him. Nic is sure to be fishing in a Quebec river.
Evans Murray, the pro behind the camera, joined the Blueberries in 2019. He holds a college diploma in Media Arts and Technology. With extensive experience in project creation, he has been a valuable addition to the Blueberries team. He is very tenacious when it comes to achieving goals. He knows how to motivate the troops to see things through to the end. Until the shot is in the can, don't try to remove him from his post. An avid summer extreme sports enthusiast, he has developed a new passion for winter adventures. Over the years, capturing the team's adventures has become his way to leave a mark on the history of skiing in Quebec.
